Real women are ________________.
I know I may be opening a can of worms with this post but let’s get real: Women come in all shapes and sizes. And they are all real. They all bleed if they are cut. They all want to be loved. And to garner the approval of others.
So, instead of focusing on other women and judging them against your own standard, return the focus to where it should be: yourself. Because, you know what? Mudslinging is never glamorous.
Modern Retro Women focus on the physical aspects of glamour using advice gathered from the midcentury. In all of my research, I have yet to find a rule that says you need to be a Size X to be glamorous. Instead, we are told that glamour is about attitude and how one expresses oneself to the world. This includes style choices, movement, and grooming habits. It is about putting one’s “best face forward.”
And when you know your external expression is pleasing to you–no matter what your size–you’ll have the poise and confidence to give your own definition of what it means to be a real woman and can support others’ definitions for themselves, too.
