Don’t be discouraged. It is often the last key in the bunch that opens the lock. ~ Stansifer
As I’m sitting here writing this post, The Mister is across the room teaching himself AutoCAD for Mac…”Mac” being the key word. His father is a retired engineer and was probably doing computer-aided drawing before all of this fancy software became available. So, he sent a couple of books to The Mister. But The Mister was confused and frustrated by the instructions until I did some homework and found out that the PC version is very different from the Mac version. The guidebooks were basically written for a different program than the one he is using.
Once he got the right guidebooks/tutorials, he finally has been able to make some progress.* The right guidebook was the key to unlocking the mystery of this software.
This is a great metaphor for life. How often do we keep trying to jam the wrong “key” into the “lock” and become frustrated when it won’t work? We need to keep trying different “keys,” though, or else we’ll never get in the door.
Remember…it’s always the last key that works!
*I won’t mention how adorable I think he looks sitting in front of the computer looking all studious. He would be mortified if I said something like that…so I won’t. *grin*
